Surf Coast mum dies after head-on crash at Bellbrae

A Surf Coast mother has died after a head-on car crash at Bellbrae yesterday morning.
“The woman was the front passenger of a Volkswagen Polo car travelling on Anglesea Road near the Great Ocean Road intersection,” Victoria Police said.
“It is believed a Holden Commodore travelling on the opposite side of the road collided with the passenger’s car about 9.20am.
“Police were called to the scene and the woman was flown to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
“The woman died in hospital yesterday evening.
“The drivers of both cars involved in the collision were also transported to hospital with injuries.”
The Geelong Indy understands that the woman was a Surf Coast resident and a mother.
Police urged anyone who might have witnessed the collision to phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
Victoria’s road toll for 2016 stands at 177 compared to 150 at the same time last year.
