Lake Imaging have been busy honouring their commitment to providing patients in the Geelong region access to the latest in medical imaging technology.
Patients on the Bellarine Peninsula saw an expansion of services in late 2015 with the introduction of ultrasound services at Drysdale, and the opening of a brand-new practice at Ocean Grove, offering daily ultrasound and x-ray appointments, reducing the need for patients to travel for services.
A new Nuclear Medicine SPECT-CT system was installed at St John of God Hospital, which is the only one of its kind in Geelong, offering patients improved image quality, faster scan times and less waiting times for their nuclear medicine examinations.
The most exciting news for 2016 so far has been the installation of two new MRI systems at St John of God Hospital in Geelong, which is providing patients access to the leading MRI technology in Australia.
The 1.5T and 3T MRI systems complement each other, and offer features for patients that challenge traditional MRI patient perceptions, including quiet technology, fast scan times, AV equipment for entertainment while being scanned, and outstanding image quality across all body areas.
With two MRI systems installed the number of available appointments has been increased, reducing the waiting time for patients to make an appointment.
The Geelong Breast clinic still continues to lead the way in delivering the latest in breast imaging for women, with installation of two new 3D mammography systems in March 2016, reducing the waiting list for appointments, and ensuring that all women are provided access to the latest technology available.
With technology constantly changing, patients in the Geelong region can rest assured that Lake Imaging will continue to honour their commitment to bringing the latest to the region as promptly as possible.
