Did you know that France is the most visited country in the world? But that the French are fascinated about Australia, too?
Teenage students from the country of bistros and boulangeries want to understand what makes Australians tick.
From mid-May, a group of French 15, 16 and 17-year-old students have been specially selected for exchange to Australia by Department of Education-approved exchange organisation Southern Cross Cultural Exchange to realise their dream with the tremendous support of our Australian communities.
Three months is not a long time but the students from various cities and regions in France are each hoping to share their French culture and get to know Australians they meet, especially their host families.
With their interest in connecting with overseas communities, many Australian families have begun to enjoy the intangible rewards of having a sporty, talented and self-motivated exchange student become part of their family.
If you are a high school student yourself, or parents of one, why not avail yourself and the family to a culturally-rewarding experience through not-for-profit SCCE? An exchange student-cum-native speaker living with your family, who speaks English, too, can provide a fantastic opportunity for both fun and learning.
