The laser has a special cooling system to minimise discomfort during treatment and reduce side effects by protecting the top layers of the skin. Patients may feel a warming or tingling sensation during the treatment. After treatment a sensation similar to mild sunburn is felt.
Factors such as age, colour, type of lesion and where it is located will determine whether lesions such as port-wine stains and stretch marks can be effectively treated.
