Motor City Music will give tribute to an array of much-loved bands and musicians of both the past and present on Saturday.
Festival co-director Hugo T. Armstrong said Temperamental’s tribute to The Divinyls was a worthy cover.
Drucindy Chin-Quan approaches her portrayal of Chrissy Amphlett from the position of being first and foremost a fan.
“She can be a hard character to get right. I still study her. I am always looking at video clips, before every stage show, to refresh myself,“ she told the Indy.
“That way I know I won’t get too comfortable. There’s always something new to pick up that I can incorporate into the show.”
Australian rock band Gold Chisel fronted by Andy Lutze will recapture the sound and spirit of Jimmy Barnes’ Cold Chisel.
New this year is the Amy Winehouse show, bringing back the life and music of the late songstress herself along with her all-important black beehive hairdo.
Kisstroyer return to Motor City Music Festival to revive three eras of authentic Kiss costumes, more than 15 authentic Kiss guitars and stairs with all the blood-spitting, fire-breathing, guitar-smashing and smoking mayhem that brought fame to the Kiss name over the past 30 years.
Since forming in 2001, led by brothers Andrew and Stephen Kyriacou, the Kiss tribute band has grown into one of the largest touring tribute acts in Australia.
Other headliners include Thunderstruck’s AC/DC show, Achtung Baby’s U2 tribute and Simply the Best, Rebecca O’Connor as ’80s pop star Tina Turner.
Tribute bans take to the stage on Saturday 12 March.
