Even the spices are homemade at Tandoori Cuisine and Bar Indian Restaurant.
It’s all part of business owner Sandeep ‘Sandy’ Kaushal’s dream to have “the best restaurant in Geelong”.
Modern with an Indian touch, Sandy has adorned the walls with Indian wooden delights and a large handcrafted mirror.
He previously ran a successful Indian restaurant in Ocean Grove but decided to launch Tandoori Cuisine and Bar Indian Restaurant to give more people an opportunity to try the cuisine.
“My head chef, Ayub Khokhar, has 20 years’ experience and has even worked overseas – he’s very popular and has a great reputation.
“He won the 2015 Geelong Father of the Year award too.”
And within just one month, Sandy has already reached the same level his previous business had.
“Everybody is coming here saying they have never tasted such good food,” Sandy says.
“Our prices are very competitive; the menu ranges from $2 to $25.
“Drinks can be expensive at the bars on Pakington Street, but our Coronas are just $6 and our best quality wines are $30 a bottle.”
Sandy recommends trying the Tandoori Platter, Butter Chicken and Chicken Tikka Masala.
Tandoori Cuisine and Bar Indian Restaurant seats up to 90, offers pick up options and delivers free for orders within a 10 kilometre radius.
Catering options are also available.
Sandy recommends booking a reservation if planning to dine in over the weekends.
Vegetarian, gluten-free and vegan-friendly options are available.
