Celebrating its fifth birthday earlier this year, Sandstone Café is still going strong and is constantly evolving to meet the needs of different dining crowds throughout the Geelong region.
Owner and renowned local chef Simon Parrott has more than 30 years of experience in the industry and prides himself on old-fashioned customer service.
He has developed his wealth of knowledge at Sandstone Café, creating a unique, exciting oasis for Grovedale locals to enjoy and relax in away from the busy shopping centres.
Open seven days a week from 9am for breakfast and lunch, Sandstone also opens for dinner on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 5.30pm.
The venue is available for functions, catering for all kinds of life-event celebrations, with space for up to 130 people at an all-standing function or 80 for a sit-down function.
A private outdoor courtyard can also seat 30 to 40 people on a nice day.
“We are a café by name only and you can expect to see restaurant quality food at very reasonable prices,” Mr Parrott said.
“We offer award-winning Dimattina coffee and an extensive wine list loaded with local wines – Longboard, Mt Moriac, Oakdene, Bellarine estate and Scotchmans Hill.”
Sandstone offer a unique range of contemporary Australian cuisine with a strong seafood influence. Highlights include an all-day breakfast, fresh sandwiches, panini, wraps, soups and burgers.
There are also old comfort-food favourites such as quiche, frittata, lasagne, homemade cakes, biscuits, scones and slices.
The dinner menu includes a range of salmon, calamari, prawns, lamb tagine, beef or pork dishes, with an ongoing special two-course meal deal for $35.
Sandstone Café is at 284 Torquay Road, Grovedale.
