A 35-YEAR-old Geelong man has been arrested after a terrifying spate of armed robberies across the city this week.
It’s alleged that the man robbed a 19-year-old female student at gunpoint at a Crofton St, Geelong West residence on Monday afternoon.
Police said the woman had disturbed the burglar and he had pulled his weapon on her.
The woman, a Deakin University student, heard a noise and went to investigate, thinking it was a friend.
The gunman robbed her and fled the scene.
Police said the man allegedly used a stolen credit card to catch a taxi to Belmont. Following more spending on the card, it’s alleged the man carjacked a vehicle at a carwash in Belmont.
The following day it’s alleged that the man attended a car dealership Moorabool Street in South Geelong at around 3.50pm and threatened staff with a firearm.
He stole a Colorado ute and drove from the scene.
It’s alleged the same man attended a pharmacy at Labuan Square, Norlane, almost an hour later and stole cash and drugs from staff at gunpoint.
The ute was recovered in Norlane about 5.50pm and the man arrested in Corio St Geelong around 7.20pm last night.
He was questioned by police and is expected to be charged.
