New bear necessity for Geelong kids

A UNIQUE party experience has recently arrived in Geelong catering for children of all ages.
Build-a-Bear enables kids to create their own stuffed toy furry friend, complete with their own name and birth certificate.
Build-a-Bear’s Tania Port says children and parents alike love the experience.
“We even had a grandmother come in with all her grand-children for her own birthday because she wanted something special to do with them and got a lot of pleasure watching them make their bears,” Tania says.
Party bookings starting with a minimum of six guests include a dedicated party leader to guide them through the process.
“People start off choosing their bare bear and go through various stations to create their personalised furry friend,” Tania explains.
“People can add sound, a heartbeat and a scent, visit the “bathing” station and dress their bear or other animal.
“We also print out individual furry friend birth certificates. How many parties do you go to where each person walks away with their very own present?”
But Build-a-Bear is also for big kids, with the store catering for corporate or team bonding exercises or hens nights, offering various packages starting at $16 a guest.
“Our parties can celebrate anything and guests only pay for what they buy,” Tania says.
Birthday parties include games and a rendition of happy birthday, with no particular set time limits.
Parties can even receive an appearance by Build-a-Bear mascots Bearemy and Paulette.
Build-a-Bear is at shop 2282 in Westfield Geelong near KFC in the food court, phone 5221 2671.
