Education Week: Christian College growth focus

CHRISTIAN College believes that an education worth having is one that educates beyond just academic or benchmark scores.
It must also grow the capacity for students to learn, think, create and discover ways to make the world a better place. To do this, students need to understand their place and role in the world as part of humankind, with a desire to love and care for others.
Christian College offers an education worth having, cultivating an atmosphere of care and concern for each student’s character growth and well-being within a value system and set of priorities derived from the Christian faith. Honesty, integrity, compassion, respect and tolerance underpin the expectations of all interaction within the college program.
Christian College Geelong’s aim is to provide for each student’s academic, physical, emotional and spiritual growth and needs within one of the college’s four campuses throughout the Geelong region, from pre-kinder to year 12.
Solid foundations in literacy and numeracy are laid at the junior schools through the college’s early-years structure. This leads on to the engaging and innovative middle schools program in which students study core subjects of English, mathematics, science, humanities, Christian education, physical education, health, information communication technology, music, sport, Japanese and Indonesian.
In addition, students are offered a wide range of elective studies to develop new skills and interests before making choices for their future tertiary studies and careers.
