Downsizing the family home might seem daunting but, according to Beryl and Ian Warren, “it’s easy – you just have to make the move”.
The couple had already downsized to Hamlyn Heights but wanted to be part of a community with more of a social atmosphere.
Then they discovered Lifestyle Geelong at Bell Park.
Conveniently located in a familiar area near shops and services, Beryl and Ian are now looking forward to moving into their new home and enjoying the home owners’ clubhouse and resort-like amenities.
With Lifestyle Geelong under construction, they visited Lifestyle Hastings to inspect its display homes, experience the facilities and speak to residents who had made the move.
“The community spirit is amazing,” Beryl says.
“I can see us being involved in absolutely everything.”
Beryl’s childhood friend, Colleen Nielson, was initially reluctant to more into an over-50s community but changed her mind after visiting Lifestyle Hastings.
“I thought, ‘This is for me’,” Colleen says.
Colleen has already had a garage to prepare for her move to Lifestyle Geelong.
She’s looking forward to less housework, meeting new people and enjoying the facilities.
“No one at Lifestyle Hastings told me they were unhappy with their choice. I’m really looking forward to it.”
The first home owners are due to move into Lifestyle Geelong in mid-2015, with the clubhouse to be ready for use by Christmas.
