Truck trial call
Geelong council has called for feedback on the progress of the trial restricting trucks travelling through central Geelong, underway since 3 March.
Feedback will be considered at a Submissions Hearing Panel on 12 June followed by a report to Council and the Truck Operations Committee in July.

Bells erosion
Surf Coast Shire Council is undertaking work to prevent erosion of Bells Beach’s sensitive cliff faces and protect the area’s cultural heritage.
The erosion protection work, expected to be finished by mid-June, will prevent and manage cliff erosion caused by storms and high winds particularly on the cliffs below the Hammerhead car park stairs and next to the creek.

Crash site upgrade
An intersection with a recent history of nine crashes, including serious injuries, will receive a $280,000 upgrade.
National’s upper house member David O’Brien said changes to the Bellarine Hwy (Ormond Rd) and McKillop St intersection included lane reconfiguration and modification of traffic signals.

Bethany dispute
Australian Services Union members at Bethany Community Support are taking industrial action after negotiations with management broke down over a pay dispute.
ASU Organiser Merri Blair said after a meeting with Bethany management on Wednesday that members were still being offered an increase below CPI.

Drugs stolen
Veterinarian drugs were stolen in a burglary in Manifold Rd St Leonards on Tuesday evening would be fatal if taken by humans, according to Victoria Police.
Geelong Crime Investigation Unit detectives investigating the incident have appealed for public assistance. Anyone information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or visit crimestoppers.com.au.
