Hearing tests go mobile in partnership with library

TWO community services have joined forces to open a new chapter in hearing checks.
Hearing Australia is offering free checks around the region after hitching a ride with Bellarine and Surf Coast Mobile Library.
The pair teamed in Lorne, Airey’s Inlet and Portarlington this week, with return visits to the pair of Surf Coast towns scheduled for next Tuesday.
With more than half of Australians aged over 60 suffering hearing loss, the mobile library offers an effective means of reaching the demographic most in need of the free checks.
Ros Jablonsky, the Geelong branch manager of Hearing Australia, said the mobile library was also a convenient option for anyone wanting a test.
“The hearing checks are conducted by local staff from Australian Hearing Geelong and only take around 15 minutes to complete,” she said.
“Our team will also be on hand to guide you through what next steps you may have to take in regards to your hearing,”
Ms Jalonsky said more information was available at hearing.com.au or by phoning 131 797.
