Bannockburn will need to regroup quickly if it is going to challenge for the Geelong District Football League premiership.

The Tigers were comprehensively outplayed, going down to a classy Inverleigh by 42 points.

The margin probably should have been more given the Hawks had 31 scoring shots to just nine on their way to a 12.19(91) to 8.1(49) thumping.

Bannockburn will go on to play Bell Post Hill this weekend in a first semi-final while Inverleigh meets East Geelong to decide one of the grand final participants.

Finley O’Keefe was dominant for Inverleigh with three goals while ruckman Luke Wilson was also instrumental in the win.

Geelong West Giants’ season is over following a 45-point loss to Bell Post Hill.

After an even first term the Giants were no match for a slick Panthers outfit. Final scores, Bell Post Hill 14.10(94) to Geelong West Giants 7.7(49).

A six goal to none second term gave Bell Post Hill a commanding lead at the long break, but the Giants refused to yield, kicking three goals to none in the third.

Blake Dye kicked his fourth in the final term and all of a sudden the margin was only 10 points, but the Panthers pulled away to boot the next five goals.

Will Ford bagged five majors for the Panthers to take his season’s tally to 88 while at the other end Blake Dye slotted through four to finish his season on 76.
