Superstar Patrick Dangerfield has re-signed with Geelong until 2024, the club announced yesterday.

The triple best and fairest winner is the third Cat to sign a fresh deal this week after teammates Gary Rohan and Mitch Duncan also inked new contracts.

The 29-year-old has played 94 games with the Cats after crossing from Adelaide at the end of 2015, and has earned All Australian honours in each of his four seasons at Geelong.

Geelong’s general manager Simon Lloyd said Dangerfield’s performance “on and off the field” since arriving at Kardinia Park has been “exceptional”.

“Patrick leads by example, highly motivated to further develop himself and invest in the growth of his teammates,” he said.

“His ability to perform at a consistent, elite level is something our young group aspire to.

“His overall commitment to the club and will to compete has been outstanding. We are sure he will excite our members and supporter for years to come.”
