Update: At 1.11pm the Independent received a text message from Lily’s mother saying that she had returned home “safe and well”.
A 13-year-old Belmont girl went missing on Monday, prompting a police call for public help to find her.
Lily Montano was last seen at an address in Amundsen Street about 1pm on Monday 30 March.
Police and family hold concerns for Lily’s welfare due to her age.
Lily is caucasian, 165cm tall with a slim build and dark brown hair with an undercut at the back, according to police.
She was last seen wearing a white Tommy Hilfiger shirt, black Adidas tracksuit pants and black Nike runners, police said.
Lily was known to frequent Waurn Ponds, they said.
Investigators released an image of Lily on Tuesday in hope someone recognised her and could provide information on her current whereabouts.
They urged anyone who sees Lily or with information on her whereabouts to phone Geelong Police Station on 5225 3100.
