Male on loose as police arrest three

Police are hunting a male offender after he and three others allegedly broke into a Waurn Ponds home before stealing items and a car.

Officers arrested three female teenagers and located a stolen car following the aggravated burglary in Waurn Ponds on Thursday morning.

Two offenders entered a residence on Rene St about 12.10am and demanded the keys to a white Mercedes, police alleged.

One of the offenders allegedly assaulted the sole house occupant before stealing a mobile phone, iPad and two watches before fleeing in the stolen car.

The victim, a 29-year-old man was uninjured.

About 12.30am police observed the stolen car on Barrabool Rd where it took off from them, crashing shortly after near the intersection of High St and Barrabool Rd, Belmont.

A woman, two teenage girls and a male ran from the car and police arrested the females nearby.

An 18-year-old Bannockburn woman, a 17-year-old North Geelong girl and a 15-year-old Grovedale girl were in custody and assisting police with their enquiries.

Police were searching for the male and continuing their investigation on Thursday morning.

They urged anyone with information to phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential crime report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
