A 26-year-old Corio man who had been married for 10 weeks has died after a brutal stabbing in Thomson on Monday.

Emergency services were called to Fagg Street just before 4pm to reports of two injured men.

One of the men, 24-year-old Heath Bond, brother of Dylan, from Corio, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries while Dylan Bond died at the scene.

Heath is now in a stable condition in hospital.

Dylan has been described as “adored by so many”.

Dylan played football for Corio and was a father to a young son, Levi. He married Grace on February 10 this year.

He is being remembered as a wonderful friend and great family man.

“You were a great friend to the unpopular kid,” one friend said on social media.

“To see the amount of pride you had on being a husband and father was just adorable,” said another.

“You were a big softy with a heart of gold and will be sorely missed by all,” another wrote.

“You were the one bloke who was always there for everyone regardless of time or day,” said another.

A 22-year-old man presented at Geelong Hospital on Monday with non-life threatening injuries and remained under police guard.

Homicide detectives are investigating.

A Go Fund Me page has been set up to help Dylan’s family with the aim of raising $25,000.
