Heavily-armed elite police have helped crack an alleged aggravated-burglary ring in Geelong.
Special Operations Group (SOG) members joined Geelong Criminal Investigation Unit to arrest three men last weekend as part of the investigation.
The officers joined forces to raid and search a property at Whittington on Sunday afternoon in relation to offences including aggravated burglaries and car thefts.
Four other premises were subsequently searched within the Geelong and Surf Coast region. A further three males were arrested as a result of those searches,” police posted on social media this week.
“Four persons were remanded into custody overnight to appear before the Geelong Magistrates Court.”
Police also laid charges for drug trafficking and handling stolen goods as part of the operation.
“Another male has been also arrested for failing to appear before the Melbourne County Court,” police said.
