Geelong recorded four new COVID-19 cases yesterday bringing the city’s active cases to 35, according to the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).
The increase brings the total cases in Greater Geelong to 111 and comes amid ten confirmed cases linked to a Breakwater chicken processing plant.
The site’s owner Turosi has confirmed 10 positive cases at the Golden Farms plant but DHHS has yet to classify it an outbreak.
A number of the total 420 employees that underwent tests for COVID-19 (390 negative, 20 pending) live outside of Geelong.
Surf Coast Shire’s active cases dropped to three yesterday while Golden Plains Shire recorded an additional case, bringing its confirmed active cases to six.
Colac Otway Shire currently has 54 active cases after recording four new cases yesterday, with one active case recovering on Saturday.
The department has so far linked 50 cases to an outbreak at Colac’s Australian Lamb Company Abattoir.
Victoria had 384 new COVID-19 cases with 31 reclassified, largely due to duplication, increasing the total by 353 to 9049.
Of the new cases 78 are linked to outbreaks or complex cases, and 306 are under investigation.
Another six Victorians have died from COVID-19, with four related to aged care facilities, bringing the state’s death toll to 83.
The deaths include a man and a woman in their 90s, two women and a man in their 80s and a man in his 70s.
Victoria has 4775 active cases with 1363 cases from unknown transmission.
Currently 260 Victorians are in hospital after contracting COVID-19 with 42 in intensive care, while 3937 people have recovered.
Of the total cases, 8387are from metropolitan Melbourne, while 485 are from regional Victoria.
More than 1,536,600 tests have been processed to date.

40 cases have been linked to Outlook Gardens Aged Care Facility in Dandenong North
39 cases have been linked to Arcare Aged Care Facility in Craigieburn
Single cases in staff members at the following aged care facilities have also been notified to the department – BUPA Aged Care in Woodend, Australian Unity Campbell Place in Glen Waverley, Opal South Valley in Geelong and BUPA Aged Care in Greensborough.
