A missing elderly man last seen in Geelong two weeks ago has died, after police located him overnight.
Police found the body of homeless man Paul Kelly, 77, in Geelong about 11.15pm yesterday.
Mr Kelly was last sighted at Geelong’s Westfield Shopping Centre on 13 June, police said.
Earlier this week police appealed for information to help find Mr Kelly, stating they were “really worried” for his welfare as he suffered from a medical condition.
Acting Senior Sergeant Dean Parrello said Mr Kelly used a wheelchair and was living at a Geelong medical facility before his disappearance.
The medical facility alerted police of Mr Kelly’s disappearance after he discharged himself from the centre, according to Act Sen Sgt Parrello.
“He contacted the medical facility to say he wasn’t coming back,” Act Sen Sgt Parrello said.
Police believe Mr Kelly had no contacts or family in the area.
His death was not being treated as suspicious and a report is now being prepared for the coroner, according to police.
