Fatal collision at Moolap

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating a fatal collision in Moolap this afternoon.

It is understood a brown Toyota Corolla and a white Mazda CX9 collided on Bellarine Highway, near the intersection of Whitehorse Road, about 12.25pm.

A female passenger of the Toyota Corolla, who is yet to be formally identified, was worked on by emergency services but died at the scene.

Another female passenger of the Toyota was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.

The female driver of the Toyota was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The female driver of the Mazda CX9 and two children who were passengers in the vehicle were all taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The exact circumstances of the collision are yet to be determined and investigations are ongoing.
