A driver will lose his licence after he was caught doing almost double the speed limit in Lara this morning.
Police spotted the Audi Q5 travelling at an alleged speed of 195km/h on Princes Freeway at about 3.45am on 22 October.
The 27-year-old male driver from Glenroy told officers that he was on his way to pick a passenger up to take them to the airport and claimed he was trying to set his cruise control.
The man’s licence will be cancelled for 12 months, and he is expected to be charged on summons with driving offences.
