The Anakie and Norlane communities will have the chance to raise issues with their local councillors this weekend through the return of listening post sessions.
Windermere ward councillors Anthony Aitken and Kylie Grzybek will be available to chat informally to their constituents about any topics of interest at two sessions on Saturday.
The first session will be held from 9.30-10.30am at Anakie Community House, before the councillors head to the Norlane Community Centre for a second session from 11.30am-12.30pm.
All councillors participated in an initial round of listening posts in May, with further listening posts for the Brownbill, Bellarine and Kardinia wards also planned.
Cr Grzybek said she was looking forward to visiting Anakie and Norlane after previously holding listening posts in Lara and Corio.
“These sessions are a good chance to connect with people face-to-face in a relaxed environment,” she said.
“Everyone is invited and encouraged to come along and speak with us about any council matter they want to raise.”
Cr Aitken said the sessions were important for councillors to gain an understanding of the distinct issues facing each town or suburb.
“As councillors we need to represent each community equally, and being there in person to speak with residents helps us to do that,” he said.
“It’s also an opportunity for the community to find out about council projects already underway that will benefit their local area.”
All community members are welcome to attend the sessions, which will be held in a COVID-safe manner, with no requirement to pre-register.
