Trucks crash, close Geelong ring road

A two-truck crash has closed Geelong’s ring road, authorities have alerted.

Police have rushed to the scene, with traffic banking up on the road’s Melbourne-bound side.

“The Melbourne-bound lanes of the Geelong Ring road are closed at Barrabool Rd, due to a two-truck collision,” VicRoads said.

“Victoria Police is directing traffic onto the Barrabool Road exit, with delays building rapidly on the approach.

“Drivers should follow the direction of emergency services and allow extra time for their journey.

“This closure is under Victoria Police control. The road will reopen when investigations are complete and it’s safe to do so.

“VicRoads’ signals team is monitoring conditions in the area and will tweak lights to help with traffic flow where needed.”
