The Surf Coast Community Arts Calendar Competition exhibition is now open, and 12 artworks have been chosen to feature in the calendar’s final print edition.
The exhibition opened to the public at Anglesea Art Space on 10 October and will run until 26 October, featuring artworks that had been submitted for next year’s Surf Coast Shire Council calendar.
Councillor Leon Walker said competition winners were announced during the exhibition’s opening and will have their works featured alongside each of the calendar months.
He also said the community was encouraged to vote for their favourite artworks displayed during the exhibition by Friday 24 October for the people’s choice award.
“We congratulate artists on a stunning range of entries across all categories, age groups and mediums,” Mr Walker said.
“We hope this last calendar competition exhibition can be a fitting celebration of its story and the great artistic talent in our region.”
The winners of the competition included Penny Skinner, Archie Sullivan, Rosie Crone, Sarah More, Sachi Bridgeford, Alisha Lyon, Luisa Gioffre-Suzuki, Peter Brighton, Paul Weigh, Doug Banner, Emma Hayward and Peter Day.
The 2026 calendar edition will be the final print edition after running for more than 25 years, with its legacy continuing as a refreshed annual community art exhibition.
