Gateways gains new CEO

A Geelong not-for-profit disability organisation has appointed a new chief executive officer.

Gateways Support Services chair Keith Baillie said Rohan Braddy had been selected after a highly competitive process due to his extensive experience advocating for people living with disabilities.

“This is an exciting time for Gateways as Rohan is a future-focused, for-purpose leader who will positively impact how we support our participants and their families,” he said.

Mr Braddy is the president and board chair of the peak Australian disability service provider body National Disability Service.

He said he was glad to help Gateways focus on its strategic positioning and financial sustainability.

“Gateways is an outstanding organisation, with a long and proud track record of providing high-quality, person-centred services,” he said.

“I have a deep commitment to creating a world of opportunities for people with disability and breaking down barriers to support them to live great lives.”

Mr Braddy said he would continue to focus on Gateway’s quality of services and highlight the importance of working with the person it supports in his new role.

“We will expect that Gateway’s values are demonstrated in every interaction, with every person in every situation,” he said.

“We need to be constantly challenging ourselves: what supports and services do our people want? When do our people want them? Who would our people like their supports to be delivered by?”

Mr Braddy said he looked forward to adapting to new changes in the sector, increasing productivity and boosting employee morale through a people-focused approach.

“We will do everything in our power to attract and retain the best staff,” he said.
