Future of care for Amelie

Problem-solving and caring for people are at the core of what Amelie Anderson loves to do, as she looks to pursue a healthcare career.

Saint Ignatius College Geelong’s graduating VCE student was named the college dux after achieving a 95.75 ATAR score.

Amelie received raw study scores of 43 in Literature, 36 in Biology, 35 in French, 33 in Indonesian, 30 in Chemistry and 22 in Mathematical Methods.

She said it was “pretty exciting” to see her ATAR score and looked forward to pursuing a career in healthcare in the future.

“I was sitting down with mum on my bed when I opened it (ATAR result), and I think we both just screamed, so it was a bit unexpected,” she said.

“I studied two languages throughout my high school journey; my grandmother was French, so it was a nice thing to do to speak to family, and I loved studying Indonesian as well.

“I’d like to be in a patient-facing and problem-solving role within healthcare as that is what I like to do and, next year, I’m really keen to study nursing at Deakin.”

Amelie was also previously awarded the House Medallion (MacKillop) and subject awards for VCE Languages: Indonesian and VCE Literature at the school’s Mosaic Awards Evening on 20 November.

Saint Ignatius College Geelong’s vice captains also achieved ATAR scores over 90, with Riley Molloy achieving a 92.95 and Stephanie Reynolds achieving a 92.35.
