A motorcyclist has died following a collision with an SUV on the Princes Highway at Norlane about 6.50am on Monday.
Police believed a motorcycle and a black Toyota RAV4 collided near the intersection of North Shore Road.
The male rider, who police had yet to formally identify, died at the scene.
The male driver and passenger of the car were uninjured and were assisting investigators with their enquiries, police said.
Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives appealed for anyone who witnessed the collision or with dash cam footage to come forward.

Ambulance Victoria dispatched a helicopter to the scene after receiving a call-out just before 6.50am.
The air ambulance crew had intended to take the man to The Alfred hospital prior to receiving notification of his death.
Meanwhile police had closed Princes Highway south-bound between Forster Street and North Shore Road in Geelong due to the crash, VicRoads announced.
“Delays are building and currently back to St Georges Road,” a VicRoads spokesperson said.
“Motorists are advised to use Thompson Road or Station Street to head into Geelong.
“The closure is under the direction of Victoria Police and will re-open when it is safe to do so.
“Our signalling engineers are monitoring the traffic and adjusting traffic light sequences as required to help minimise congestion.”
