Flood warning

A moderate flood warning has been issued for the Barwon River downstream of Inverleigh.

Rapid river rises are occurring along the Barwon rivers.

Downstream along the Barwon River at Geelong, minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is likely on Tuesday.

In the 48 hours to 11pm Monday, rainfall totals up to 70mm have been recorded in the Barwon River catchment. The situation is being closely monitored, and warnings will be updated as necessary.

Moderate flooding is occurring along the Barwon River downstream of Inverleigh at Pollocksford. Moderate flooding is likely at Geelong.

The Barwon River at Geelong is currently at 2.81 metres and rising, with minor flooding.

The Barwon River at Geelong is likely to reach the moderate flood level (3.10 m) overnight Monday into Tuesday. The river level may exceed 3.50 metres Tuesday morning.

A minor flood warning has been issued for the Leigh River, which fell below the moderate flood level early Tuesday morning.

The Moorabool River at Batesford Bridge is currently at 4.30 metres and rising, with moderate flooding. The Moorabool River at Batesford Bridge is likely to peak near 4.40 metres Tuesday morning.
