Police seeking information after Lara rail assault

Police are reaching out to the public after the alleged assault of a conductor at Lara railway station on Wednesday, August 10.

A male traveller attacked the conductor at the station at 8.30am, punching him in the face and inflicting facial injuries to the staff member.

Police say the conductor had approached the traveller on the train between Geelong and Lara to ask him to turn down his music.

Both men exited the train at Lara station and an altercation ensued, resulting in the traveller punching the conductor in the face before fleeing the scene on foot.

Transit Crime Investigation detectives have released CCTV and images of a man they believe can assist with their enquiries.
