$126,163 lotto win in syndicate

A Geelong syndicate member who bought their lotto ticket in Belmont has won $126,163.

The lotto player, who bought their ticket from Belmont Lucky Lotto, was one of 10 syndicate members, from across Victoria, to share in a $1,223,690 division one prize.

The “middle-aged man” had just come off a division two win in a separate syndicate run from Belmont Lucky Lotto the week before, store co-owner Bryan Leat revealed.

“He’s a regular of ours,” Mr Leat said on Monday.

“He’s a deserved winner. He’s a nice guy. We just think it’s fantastic giving money back to the customers, we love it.”

The win was the first division one ticket Mr Leat and wife Ann had sold in their nearly two years owning the store.

“This is our first division one but we’ve sold heaps of second division winners, so it’s been due for us to get a big one,” he said.

“I got an email yesterday from head office with the news.

“All yesterday I was on cloud nine thinking one of our customers had got a nice boost. It’s going to make his life more comfortable.

“I couldn’t stop talking about it to the wife yesterday because we had a pretty good idea who it was.”

The syndicate was one of four division one-winning entries nationally in TattsLotto’s Saturday night draw.

The syndicate also won division three 30 times and division four 150 times, bolstering its total prize to $1,261,629.87.

The chances of winning division one in Tattlsotto’s Saturday night draw are one in 8,145,060.
