Visible police presence in Surf Coast

Police will be highly visible this weekend as many visitors flock to the Surf Coast to enjoy several events.

Events like the Lorne Mountain to Surf Fun Run, Powercor Pier to Pub Ocean Swim and Million Dollar Bogan – Life Lie Australia Ride are expected to bring an influx of visitors to the Surf Coast.

“Local police, including highway patrol, will be significantly increasing their presence on Surf Coast roads this weekend,” Surf Coast Local Area Commander Inspector Ilena Pucar said.

“With several public events scheduled, we anticipate a surge in road traffic to and from the Surf Coast.

“Our number one priority is to keep the community safe, which is why we will be on high alert for anyone speeding, drink driving, not wearing a seatbelt or using their mobile phone behind the wheel.

“To those attending an event on the Surf Coast this weekend, we encourage you to have a great time, act responsibly, and help ensure a positive experience for everyone.”
