State government has officially signed off on a $700,000 grant for Geelong Food Relief Centre, the “most significant” funding boost in its 30-year history, according to chief executive officer Collin Peebles.

The Independent in January revealed the centre would receive the $700,000 share of a $3.5 million state government program.

But Geelong MP Christine Couzens and Disability, Ageing and Carers Minister Luke Donnellan officially announced the grant in a visit to the centre today.
