Man charged after 3D-printed firearms found in haul

A man has been charged after 3D-printed firearms were found among a stash of weapons and drugs at a home in Victoria’s southwest.

Police searched a Torquay property on Tuesday as part of an investigation into a non-fatal shooting in the Geelong suburb of Whittington in March.

They found five 3D-printed firearms, a handgun, an imitation firearm, silencer, methylamphetamine and other illicit drugs.

A 27-year-old Torquay man has been charged with multiple offences over the haul.

He was also charged with possessing a general category handgun and disposing of general category handgun over the March shooting that left a 55-year-old Whittington man with non-life threatening injuries.

Days after the incident, a 29-year-old Grovedale man was charged with aggravated burglary with a firearm, making threats to kill and other offences.
