A former Geelong DJ has been jailed for up to nine and a half years for sexually abusing several girls aged 14 to 15 between 2003 and 2011.

County Court judge Frank Gucciardo on Monday sentenced James Robert Clark, 38, of Bell Park, after he pleaded guilty to eight charges of sexual penetration of a child under 16 and persistent sexual abuse of a child under 16.

His sentence has a non-parole period of six years and three months, including 53 days already served in pre-sentence detention.

Sky’s not the limit

The Australian Space Agency has signed on as a major supporter for the 2021 Avalon Airshow to promote the growing industry to a wider aerospace and defence audience.

“This is a prime opportunity for our sector to connect, promote our impressive capabilities, and identify opportunities to work together,” the agency’s head Enrico Palermo said.

Green light for pavilion

A $1.3 million upgrade of Anglesea Netball Club’s pavilion has received the green light from Surf Coast Shire Council following a $500,000 state government grant.

The project, also supported by council and community funding, includes demolishing the existing facility and constructing a new multi-use building with accessible amenities.
