Victoria’s bomb squad detonated a “suspect” device at Hamlyn Heights this morning after detectives discovered the object while serving a court order.
Torquay Crime Investigation Unit detectives attended the Pride Avenue address about 9.05am this morning to serve the court order, a police spokesperson said.
“While there investigators had located a suspect device,” they said.
“The Bomb Response Unit attended and after inspecting the device, detonated it and rendered it safe.
“A 42-year-old Hamlyn Heights man is currently assisting police with their enquiries. The investigation remains ongoing.”
