Police arrest man following fatal Whittington shooting

Police arrested a man this morning following a fatal shooting in Whittington last night.

Police and paramedics rushed to a Boundary Road house about 7.20pm last night after receiving reports a man had been shot.

Emergency services were unable to revive the 31-year-old Whittington man, who died at the scene.

Police arrested a 39-year-old Whittington man in Leopold just before 6am this morning and detectives are currently interviewing him.

Both parties were known to each other, a Victoria Police spokesperson said.

Detectives had yet to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the incident and police had established a crime scene at the house.

Investigators urged anyone with information to phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential crime report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
