Man with knife arrested in Manifold Heights

Geelong police arrested a man with a knife in Shannon Avenue, Manifold Heights during the early hours of this morning.

At approximately 1.40am, police received a report of a “suspicious male” in the area.

Officers arrived on the scene within two minutes and arrested a 26-year-old male from Wyndham Vale, who was wanted on warrants and in possession of a knife.

A post on the Geelong Police Eyewatch page said: “Whilst committing the offences, the offender was also found to be in breach of the directions issued by the Chief Health Officer and the appropriate penalty notice was issued.

“Police members dealing with the offender in a safe and professional manner located a knife on the offender.

“Excellent work by the members involved.”
