Police have charged a man following a stabbing and attempted carjacking in Geelong West last weekend.
It is believed a 52-year-old man was in his driveway on Britannia Street at about 2.50am Sunday morning when he was approached by the alleged offender, a 26-year-old Corio man.
The victim told police the other man then demanded his car keys before stabbing him and fleeing the scene.
The 52-year-old was then taken to Geelong hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
The alleged offender was later arrested and has been charged with intentionally causing serious injury, attempted aggravated carjacking, conduct endangering life and committing an indictable offence whilst on bail.
The Corio man has also been charged with a number of offences relating to incidents in December 2023, including aggravated burglary, theft from motor-vehicle, criminal damage, reckless conduct endangering life, intentionally causing serious injury and bail offences.
He was remanded and was due to face Geelong Magistrates’ Court today.
