
A Pakington Street business has been significantly damaged by a fire overnight.
Emergency services responded to a fire at Truskin laser and skin clinic on the corner Pakington and Wellington Streets at approximately 11.35pm last night (Wednesday, June 4).
A spokesperson for Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) said crews mobilised after callers to Triple Zero (000) reported a fire at the Pakington Street premises.
“Firefighters arrived on scene within five minutes to find a shop fully involved in flames,” the spokesperson said.
“Crews swiftly extinguished the fire, which was deemed under control at 11.44pm.
“Firefighters remained on scene for some time to ventilate the property. The scene was handed to Victoria Police.”
No one was inside the building at the time of the fire.
The shop has been cordoned off by police, who said they were investigating the fire.
“The exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined but is being treated as suspicious at this stage,” a police spokesperson said.
