Mans drowns at Queenscliff

Police are investigating after a man died in water in Queenscliff this morning.

It is understood the man was in a small boat on a creek near Bridge Street when he got into trouble and fell into the water about 9.55am.

A woman who was in the boat at the time was not injured.

Emergency services searched the water for the man, who is yet to be formally identified.

He was located deceased a short time later.

Police will prepare a report for the Coroner.
