Victoria’s heritage body wants to lock up Torquay’s foreshore and Taylor Park from development, a council report has revealed.

A report tabled at a Surf Coast Shire meeting this week also earmarked Torquay’s Sea View Villa, the town’s public hall and former butcher shop, St Luke’s Anglican Church, Torquay Uniting Church and the public foreshore caravan park for listings on Heritage Victoria’s register.

A 20-year-old ice addict with ADHD, a “borderline IQ” and “countless” prior convictions has been jailed for a king hit that left a 15-year-old with $15,000 worth of dental repairs.

Michael Strojan, formerly of 3 Elliot Crt, Whittington, pleaded guilty to various offences including recklessly causing injury, burglary, assault with a weapon and dangerous driving.

More than 200 jobs might be up for grabs at WorkSafe’s new Geelong headquarters as some staff decline to leave Melbourne, a state minister told the Indy yesterday (Thursday).

About 70 per cent of the authority’s Melbourne staff who were asked to relocate under stage one of the transition had made the move, Finance Minister Robin Scott said.
