Man charged over Geelong West stabbing

Geelong Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following an alleged stabbing in Geelong West last month.

Emergency services responded after a man was stabbed near the intersection of Pakington Street and Lawton Avenue about 2am on Tuesday, 24 June.

It is understood the victim, a 27-year-old man, took himself to a property in Saywell Street and called Triple Zero (000).

Officers attended the address, and the North Geelong man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives have since charged a 21-year-old Armstrong Creek man with armed robbery, intentionally cause injury, recklessly cause injury and assault with a weapon.

He will appear before Geelong Magistrates Court today.
