Corangamite retains name

The seat of Corangamite will retain its name after the Australian Electoral Commission previously announced plans to rename the electorate ‘Tucker’ in honour of Aboriginal activist Margaret Tucker.

The word Corangamite is derived from the Indigenous word for bitter in language of the Gulidjan people, who are native to the electorate.
