Mick Robins admired the $175,000, 18-carat gold Melbourne Cup at Geelong’s National Wool Museum this week.
Mr Robins trained Rain Lover to dual Melbourne Cups victories in the 1960s.
The cup was in town as part of a regional tour to promote the Melbourne race next week.
