Good sports show classic moves

By MICHELLE HERBISON

AUSTRALIAN dancesport champion couple Norm and Carol Bryant will join Dancing with the Stars favourites at the sport’s annual Geelong festival in September.
The Bryants last year won the Australian Dancesport championships in masters (35-50 years) for their new vogue routine.
City of Greater Geelong major events portfolio holder, Cr Ron Nelson said Dancing with the Stars’ Craig Monley and Sriani Argaet would headline the event with a special floorshow.
“It will be great to have some of the region’s most talented dancers competing in a wide range of dance styles, including foxtrot, tango and modern waltz to rumba, samba, jive and new vogue. The dance festival has something for everyone with Standard, Latin American and new vogue competitions.”
Audiences could also purchase costumes and jewellery and participate in a free raffle, Cr Nelson said.
Geelong Classic Dancesport Festival begins at 11am on 7 September at Club Italia, Moolap.
Tickets are available by emailing geelongclassic@rocketmail.com or phoning 0403 418 922.
