A shark has badly mauled a 73-year-old fisherman off the coast of Queenscliff this morning.
Ambulance Victoria senior paramedic team manager Brad Pole said the shark bit the man’s arm when he was fishing by himself on a boat.
According to reports the man had just caught the 1.5m shark.
“He drove his boat two kilometres back to the marina where paramedics were waiting for him.”
Paramedics treated his injuries and later loaded the man onto an ambulance helicopter, which flew him to The Alfred hospital in a serious condition.
