Choir women make a scene for their nude calendar

Prominent Geelong landmarks feature as backdrops for a risqué nude calendar.
Geelong Harmony Chorus members in all shapes and sizes have posed for the calendar to raise money for their group.
Member Bron Lawson said the calendar featured naked singers against scenery such as Geelong’s foreshore, Barwon Heads Bridge and the You Yangs.
Ms Lawson said some of the nude photographs were shot in the studio then incorporated into the landscape images while others were taken on location.
“The photos were dictated by lighting from a photographic perspective, so they weren’t always shot at the quietest times,” she said.
“One of the photos was shot down at the Barwon Heads Bridge with cars streaming across the bridge – there were a lot of toots on that occasion.”
Ms Lawson was initially horrified at the prospect of being photographed nude but eventually embraced the experience after some gentle persuasion from photographer and choir member Petal O’Dell.
“I never imagined I would be part of a nude calendar but I realised that I wanted my children to grow up understanding that beauty is not in perfection, it’s in everyone and everything.
“We put our trust in Ms O’Dell and embraced the project with courage and a sense of fun.”
The choir will launch the calendar at Geelong’s Wintergarden cafe on November 7.
