Train versus chopper: Malcolm Turnbull’s take

COMMUNICATIONS minister Malcolm Turnbull travelled to Geelong this morning to talk NBN, but pointedly revealed he took the train – not a chopper.
The post follows the storm of protest that greeted revelations parliamentary speaker Bronwyn Bishop hired a $5000 helicopter to attend a Liberal Party fundraiser in Drysdale last year.
Mr Turnbull joined Corangamite MP Sarah Henderson in Torquay to inspect NBN works, discuss the NBN rollout and attend a community forum.
But it was the Twitter post of a photo of himself with Ms Henderson at South Geelong train station that gained a swag of responses.
Comedian and former Geelong journo Wendy Harmer enquired: “Are you going to Torquay by push bike?”
Mark Forbes remarked: “What, no chopper available!”
Robby26872 observed that the train was probably faster than Malcolm’s version of the NBN.
Hitting Alice opined that the communications minister was hand delivering an email.
Ric Willmot did not buy the said: “NBN is a waste of taxpayer’s money and your obviousness with this post re: travel expenses is sad.”
DamePrinceGraffiti advised: “Be sure to enjoy the scenery before you muck it up with node cabinets.”
